Kristin and I are about to board a plane for our honeymoon out East. A little taste of both Chinese and Japanese culture in Beijing and Tokyo. Hopefully we can find something for Kristin to eat =)

Engagement Photos

We took our engagement photos with our photographer Victor Sizemore on November 16, 2008.  If you recall, that weekend there were HUGE fires everywhere!!  It was hot and smoky outside (it hurt your eyes and lungs after a while) and there was ash coming down.  You couldn’t see any blue sky…basically not a good day to be outside.  But, the show must go on!!  With the help of Dorothy and Shawn, we went up to UCLA with the doggies and did our shoot!  Here are the pics!

Updates

Man, we have so many updates to do. I’ll Kristin cracking on the major ones but a lot has happened since our last update:

1. Kristin’s Dress Fiasco

2. Kristin spent a few weeks in Southern France with her family (lucky!)

3. Nate passed California Veterinary Medical Board exams, and took Nationals (don’t find out for another month!)

4. We took engagement photos with our awesome photographer Victor Sizemore

5. Did a whole bunch of wedding registry stuff yesterday…boy is that tiring. But Macy’s home makes it somewhat tolerable.

6. Picking up Kristin’s wedding band from Varna today

7. Still can’t think of what kind of band I want. Does anyone have a Damascus Steel or Mokume Gane ring? Anywhere in LA you can go to see one?

8. Still trying to convince Kristin to let me cut the cake with a 1. Samurai Sword or 2. Scalpel.

9. Waiting to find out where we go next year. Only the MATCH knows….it will be an adventure!

Surprise!!!

I visited Nate this weekend and brought him a BIG surprise!!!  A brand spankin’ new Macbook Pro!! 

I bought the Macbook 3 weeks ago…and kept it a secret for the entire time!!  I wanted to surprise him for a change with his wedding present! 

The laptop came in a big box so I packed it in the suitcase I was checking in and packed the laptop in my carry on.  I also packed the box MY Dell XPS came in in the suitcase to add another element of surprise.  It was Kevin’s idea to put the Macbook in the Dell case and then Nate would be doubly surprised with his present!!  So, when I got to Detroit, I put the Macbook in the XPS neoprene sleeve and then put that in the XPS box and then back in the suitcase.  I wanted to give Nate the Macbook as soon as I saw him but we went out for dinner/drinks first.  Then, when we got home, Nate was downstairs so I quickly put the XPS box on Nate’s bed so it would be the first thing that he saw!!  Here is his reaction:

I think he was pretty happy with his gift!!  =)

The Dress

After 1 hour of trying on dresses on Saturday, I found my dress and we purchased it!!! =) I didn’t think we were going to buy one but the designer of the dress was there for a trunk show and she is doing all sorts of custom alterations for me! Yay!! And, I think we got the bridesmaid dresses too. Wow, I’m way ahead at this point!

Next up….going to the hotel to look at the contract!!
